Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Muse Aesthetics Pty Ltd, trading as Nova Cosmetic Clinic (“we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information when you visit novacosmetic.clinic (the “Site”), book a consultation, receive treatment or buy products from us.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information we collect

Information you give us. This includes your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, billing and delivery address, and booking and payment details. If you book a consultation or treatment, it also includes health information such as your medical history, medications, allergies, treatment records and clinical photographs.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we collect device and usage information such as your browser type, IP address, time zone, pages viewed, search terms and how you interact with the Site. We do this through cookies and similar technologies.

Customer support information. This is any information you provide when you contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp, social media or in person.

Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

  • provide consultations, treatments and aftercare, and keep accurate clinical records
  • process bookings, orders and payments, and send confirmations and invoices
  • respond to enquiries and provide customer support
  • prevent fraud and keep the Site secure
  • improve the Site and our services through analytics
  • send you news and offers, if you have agreed to receive them; you can unsubscribe at any time
  • comply with our legal and professional obligations

Health information

Health information is sensitive information. We collect it only with your consent and only where it is needed to provide safe treatment. Only our clinicians and authorised staff can access it. We keep it securely and retain it for as long as Australian health record laws require.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business. These include:

  • Shopify, which hosts our online store (https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy)
  • payment processors
  • booking and practice-management systems
  • email and messaging providers
  • analytics and advertising tools

These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and Ireland. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies that are necessary for the store to work, such as for the cart, checkout and login. We also use analytics and marketing cookies to understand how the Site is used and to show you relevant ads on other platforms.

You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the Site may not work properly without them. You can opt out of personalised ads through your Google and Meta ad settings, or at https://optout.aboutads.info. We do not change our practices in response to “Do Not Track” signals.

Age

Our treatments are available only to people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. After that, we securely destroy it or de-identify it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. Customers outside Australia may have additional rights under their local laws, such as the GDPR. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
